An update from our initiative for the Madonna Austrian Hospital in Nigeria
Back in 2017, NTS Retail employees collected money to pay for the education of Kelechi, a young Nigerian woman, to enable her to become an eye surgery assistant in her home country. Our management team generously rounded up the amount. With a total of 1,500 euros, half of Kelechi’s training costs could be covered right away.
We wrote a news post about this project back then, you can find it here.
Now, three years later, Kelechi is about to finish her training at the Madonna Austrian Hospital in November 2020, earning her a degree, which will allow her to lead a self-determined life. Training qualified local specialists has a sustainable impact on the local communities. In addition to medical assistance from international organizations, local medical staff can actively help to prevent a large number of patients from going blind.
We are very proud that she completed all exams in record time and wish her all the best for her future!
