NTS Retail supports the Austrian Red Cross social market project Leonding with a donation of goods

Poverty is a concern for many families, even in a prosperous country like Austria. It can hit anyone and, oftentimes, the sense of isolation that goes along with it is one of the hardest things to overcome. The Austrian Red Cross operates numerous “social markets” around the country, where people can buy groceries and daily necessities for their entire family, even if they are on a limited budget. The last two years have been hard on many families, which is why NTSers came together to help out a little bit with donations to the Red Cross market in Leonding.

The Red Cross has been a dear partner over the course of many years, as we cooperated on a variety of different projects. Naturally, we wanted to join the “Red Cross Market” project. The concept behind “Red Cross Markets” all over Austria is to sell donated goods at extremely low prices to people in need. Everyone below a certain net income can shop at these markets to save money and sustain their families.

The aim of the project was to collect donated goods (canned food, soap, washing powder, paper towels etc.) among our NTS Retail colleagues to support the Red Cross Market in Leonding. Up until the target date, we were able to collect an entire minivan full of groceries to give to the Austrian Red Cross. We would like to thank our amazing colleagues who actively supported this project with their generous donations!

On February 23rd, we welcomed Red Cross volunteers at our headquarters in Leonding and happily handed over the collected goods. We are very pleased with the outcome of our collection campaign and hope that the goods help bring a bit of sunshine into the lives of people in need!
