Europe’s biggest Digital Signage trade fair, the “Integrated Systems Europe” (http://www.iseurope.org/), took place from February 10th to February 12th in Amsterdam. More than 1,000 exhibitors presented innovative and state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions in about one dozen exhibition halls. Together with hardware partner Elo Touch Solutions, NTS presented its POS and touchpoint solutions NTS sales, NTS vShelf, NTS touchstore and NTS product wizard. With a market share of about 30-40%, Retail represents the most important vertical market for Digital Signage and shows exciting trends in regard to displays, software and connected technologies:
Small Signage: Apart from large DS displays, smaller ones with dimensions between 10’’ and 20’’ and integrated media players are more and more in demand in Brick & Mortar stores. Presentations also included a great number of professional displays since common tablet computers do not meet the high requirements.
Video Walls: With a growth rate of over 100% in 2014, Video Walls are an important up-and-coming market. The experts on site presented higher resolutions paired with high-performance solutions, Narrow Brezels and smart Mounting solutions.
Interactivity: Thanks to various sensors and multi-touch, classical Digital Signage becomes interactive. Beacon Technology, Electronic Shelf Labels and Mobile Devices – all connected to a central system – provide a seamless user experience across all digital and physical channels (omni-channel).
Outdoor & Shop Windows: With Ultra High Brightness Displays (7000+ nit), Digital Signage becomes fully usable even in direct sunlight. LED displays are further continuing to advance although their market penetration level is still comparatively low at the moment.
In-Store Retail Analytics: To better measure the success and ROI of Digital Signage, a whole range of solutions that allow for anonymously estimating a customer’s age and gender as well as evaluating if and how long someone pays attention to the display. Software tools also make it possible to combine the data gathered by other in-store solutions, such as the POS system, and thus provide valuable insight for shop operators.
