This year’s Ars Electronica Festival took place in Linz last week end. As in previous years, the event presented an amazing amalgamation of technology and art, with 1,357 artists, scientists, technicians, entrepreneurs and activists from 54 different countries presenting their projects at 12 different locations to more than 105,000 visitors. The event has become a key fixture in the international art and tech scene as well as a kick-off to the cultural autumn season in Linz.
Check out the fascinating highlight reel from this year’s festival:
NTS Retail has been supporting the festival for several years now by providing a retail commerce solution, including software and hardware. Our systems are used to manage the sales and payment process at the event. Due to the record number of visitors this year, we provided the festival with a total of five retail commerce systems as well as with operative support and training for the event staff.
We are happy to serve as a local sponsor to the culture scene in Linz and Upper Austria. With its focus on presenting cutting-edge technology to a large, diverse audience, Ars Electronica is a particularly great fit for us. Emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are not only exciting to us, they also might wind up changing the way that modern retail environments look, feel and work. That makes the event a great opportunity for us to get inspirations from top-level researchers and their cool showcases.
As a thank you from Ars Electronica, our employees and their families got to experience a guided tour of the festival. Everyone had a blast exploring the festival and playing around with the interactive parts of the high-tech exhibitions. We’ll certainly be back next year again!
